Overview
Clearwater County is a municipal district situated in west-central Alberta, Canada, spanning 18,605.71 square kilometres. With its boundaries extending from the Brazeau River in the northwest to the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, the county encompasses prairie landscapes in the east and mountainous terrain in the west. Known for its expansive outdoor recreation, it offers a distinct rural character defined by open spaces, agriculture, and a resource-driven economy. The administrative headquarters are located in the Town of Rocky Mountain House, a separately managed municipality entirely surrounded by the county's borders.
